PROJECTS

THE PRAIRIE EXTRACT LIBRARY

We have 450 extracts prepared from 135 plants species.  Most of the species are unique to the prairie ecological zone and are not available elsewhere.
All extracts are traced to a voucher specimen, annotated, and tested in our bioassays.

PHENOTYPIC ASSAYS

We investigate each extract by cell-based phenotypic assays.  Currently, we specialize in chemicals that stop cancer cells from dividing.  We focus on characterization of cellular responses, targets, and taxonomical relationships between chemicals and plants.

PHARM-DRONE

The prairies are vast.  We use unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) and developed proprietary software to find prairie plants. It works.

THE POWER OF UNBIASED ASSAYS

We found a prairie plant which, when added to cells, causes them to mimic a rare human disease: Pelger-Huët Anomaly Syndrome.
